Thorsens Chipskartofler A/S takes care of all the logistics – starting from retrieving potatoes from the field until delivering them to the customer. We do this because we work by a princip called “just in time”. It means that we always aim to achieve the shortest possible time from first handling of the potatoes until they are received by customer.

This is due to the fact as soon as you start to treat potatoes the quality of potatoes starts to slowly degrade, this process starts slowly as soon as the handling is begun. Therefore we achieve the best quality by working by the “just in time” principle.

Every week we receive delivery plans with desired delivery times by different customers. Based on those times we calculate backwards hour by hour so that in the end we know when the growers should harvest the potatoes or when the sampling from the warehouse should be started.
